The 1967 Ford Fairlane was a virtual copy of the 1966 Fairlane
model. The only noticeable changes was a slightly revised grill
and some changes to the exterior trim.
The 390 cid engine was the hot street
combination for the 1966 Fairlane. This engine featured a hi performance
camshaft, custom intake manifold, and a signle four barrel carb.
If you wanted an automatic you had to order the GTA which featured
the Sport Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission. Such vehicles were
consistent 15 second quarter mile cars.
Interior
The interior of the 1967 was unchanged
from the 1967 model.
Powertrain
The standard engine on the 500, XL,
and GT models was the 289cid engine. However, a 390cid and 427cid
engine were options. The 390 cid engine
was available in a 2bbl or 4bbl model producting 320 horsepower.
For those who wanted more power there was the 427 cid engine option
which was available in a single 4bbl (W code) rated at 410 hp or
dual quad (R code) rated at 425hp.

Ford produced
nearly 240,000 Fairlanes in 1967 of which 20,000 were GT/GTA. Note:
