1968 Chevrolet Chevelle
The 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle received a complete restyling. The car now possessed
a fastback appearance with a smooth back window following down to the trunk
lid. The front end of the car had a forward leaning appearance, or "wrapover"
styling. Models remained similar to previous years with the SS396 being the
most powerful offering.
Models:
Base, convertible, Malibu (high decorative options)
Super Sport (SS): 325hp 396cid standard motor, 2 other 396 options (L34,L78)
available, chrome wheel moldings, SS396 badges, twin bulge hood, heavy duty
suspension.
Beaumont: Canadian option - essentially a pontiac styled grill and dash. Otherwise
the same as and SS with the exception of the badging which stated SD-396.
