1968 Chevrolet Nova SS

The 1968 Chevrolet Nova received a major re-styling from it's grocery getting roots. Gone was the subcompact grocery getting image. Beginning in 1968 Chevrolet built the Nova for the muscle car market. The short deck and long nose styling was evident in the all new 1968 Nova. For Nova owners who really wanted a performance machine, the 396cid big block was available for the first time.

On the outside, the all new 1968 Nova SS received small SS badges on the fenders and rear taillights. Otherwise, the Nova SS appeared virtually identical to any other Nova. Under the hood of the SS was an optional all new 350cid motor. This was the last production year of the 327cid.
