1970 Chevrolet Camaro

The 1970 Camaro received a complete remodel for the first time
in 1970. The new sheet metal design would last for the next twelve
years. The car was longer, had a new double a-arm front suspension,
and was not offered as a convertible. As in years past the motor
options were similar with the exception of the new LT-1 350 motor.
Models:
SS: Super sport package - originally offered with standard 350 motor.
Model is denoted with SS trim markings in the blacked out grill
and dual chrome exhaust. The 396 cars had a heavy duty suspension.
RS: This package was primarily cosmetic. It is identified by the
with split bumper so the grill stood alone and parking lights between
the headlamps. This option could be ordered with the SS and the
Z-28.
Z-28: This model included the new LT-1 350 with 360 horsepower,
front disc brakes, heavy duty suspension, and big sway bars in the
front and rear. Also, included was a spoiler. Optional for the first
time was an automatic transmission.
