1969 Dodge Dart

The 1969 Dodge Dart was very much a carryover from the 1968 Dart
despite some minor exterior changes. The GTS, new 340cid, and big
block options were still around this year.
1970.
The most identifiable change on the exterior the 1969 Dodge Dart
received some rectangular accents that replaced the round turn signals
and side marker lights of the 1968 Dart. Power train options included
the 383cid and ultra-rare 440 cid Magnum motor. Not surprising,
these cars were suited best for the drag strip.
A new model was introduced this year called the Dodge Dart Swinger
340. Similar to the Super Bee, the Dart was a low frills super car
intended for drivers looking for extreme performance at a bargain
price. It featured a base level Dart without the additional chrome
and deluxe interior of the GTS cars and incorporated few options.
The heart and soul of the Swinger 340 was its potent high revving
340cid motor. Dodge sold approx. 20,000 Swinger 340’s in 1969.
