> Muscle Car Specifications > Plymouth Specs 1967 Plymouth GTX

The 1967 Plymouth GTX was first and foremost a muscle car. With
twin hood scoops, aggressive styling, racing style gas filler, chrome
exhaust tips, and a massive 440 cid motor this car meant business.
On the inside the vehicle featured highly stylized and decorative
chrome. The center console was very extensive and the rear seats
were designed to function like bucket seats.
Under the hood the GTX featured the all new 440 cid Super Commando
motor. Choices of transmission included the unbreakable four speed
or the 727 TorqueFlight. In order to handle the power, Plymouth
built up the suspension with heavy duty torsion bars and leaf springs.
Plymouth found a new success in the GTX and sold 12,690 cars in
the first year.
