1968 Plymouth GTX

The GTX was built on the same Plymouth Belvedere platform as the Road Runner. However, these cars were designed for the performance oriented executive. As such, they features the same performance of the Road Runner but included many refinements to the exterior and interior.

The exterior of the 1968 Plymouth GTX featured the same body style but included chrome GTX decals on the grill, lower quarter panels, and on the tail panel. Also, were chrome wheel well moldings, and lower body stripes.

The inside of the vehicle featured the same kind of refinements through the use of tastefully placed chrome and wood finishes. Also, all GTX’s came standard with buckets seats, console, and wood steering wheel.

Under the hood the GTX was all business. Instead of the 383cid the Road Runner received, the GTX had a 440cid as the standard motor. Of course, buyers could option for the 426 Hemi for another $700.90.
