1972 Plymouth Cuda

The 1972 Plymouth Cuda was a drastic change from previous years.
Like the rest of Detroit muscle cars, insurance pressures, emissions
standards, and gas shortages were crushing the performance world.
The Cuda was no exception. Gone were the hemi, big blocks, and shaker
scoop. Instead they were replaced by low compression small blocks.
On the outside the Cuda looked similar as changes were minimal.
In 1972 the Cuda received single headlights similar to the '70 model
year. Taillights were now large dual round units instead of the
horizontal blind style used in previous years. Other exterior changes
were minor but included new optional striping (no billboard or hockey
stripe). On the inside the car was very much the same. However,
Plymouth made a point of advertising that the standard bucket seats
offered more comfort and grip than previous years.
Under the hood you basically had two options; 318 2bbl, or the
hi performance 340cid motor. Still available was the 4 speed which
which included the pistol grip shifter.
