1964 - 1974 Pontiac GTO
To many this is the car that began the muscle car era. Pontiac
engineers snuck a way to violate a GM mandate about big motors in
small cars. The result was a big block in an intermediate pontiac
body. The result was the creation of a new era in North American
automotive performance. The GTO began as an option package on the
Tempest LeMans.
Interesting fact: GTO stands for Grand Turismo
